10. In developed
countries, I think people are losing the ability to live in the moment. Rather
than just savor a moment or event, people always feel the need to either put it
on their Snapchat or Twitter.
This problem does not have a clear solution, as it is hard
to tackle social issues. I hope that
people start to see the problems of not being able to live in the moment.
9. I think our
reliance on electronics to function in everyday life has start to become
detrimental to our ability to do anything without it. In my own personal
experience, I know whenever I have to write a letter, I find myself struggling
to spell words I use often when typing. People are almost always looking at
some sort of screen, whether it be a phone, computer, or even TV.
A possible solution to this dilemma is to try and go a few
hours each day without any technology and see how what new things you become
aware of.
8. The distribution
of wealth is at an all time min and max.
The middle class around the world is shrinking at an exponential rate
while the number of upper class rise, as well as the number of lower class
rises. The rich just keep getting richer
and although I am not at all a socialist, I believe something needs to happen to
try and balance the quality of life for people.
One way is to raise taxes, but they are already fairly high
on the richest of people. Another way is
to to greatly reduce welfare benefits so that people have to work much harder
to find a source of income.
7. Terrorism is on
the rise as groups like ISIS and Al-Queda promote violence to Western
people. Islamic Terrorism is the main
form we see but this does not mean it is the only form, as there are many other
radical groups that seek to harm others that do not share their ideals.
There is no clear solution to fighting terrorism because it
is an idea. The only way to try and
prevent it is to increase security.
6. Global warming is
causing significant changes in our weather conditions. Although it may be a sort of cycle, nothing
we are doing is helping to prevent this cycle and we have almost accepted that
there is no hope to stopping it.
The answer is obvious, we need to reduce our dependence on
fossil fuels and decrease our overall energy consumption.
5. Education
throughout the world is severely lacking, as the style of teaching has not
really changed for the past 70 years and look at how much the world has
changed.
Fund more research in education studies to help modernize
education.
4. The Syrians
fleeing their country because of war face a difficult issue, as other countries
seek to be caring for these people, however they also have a duty to protect
their own citizens from possible terrorists hiding among the fleeing people.
There is no clear solution, the only way to help prevent it
is to increase border security.
3. The Earth’s clean
water supply is becoming more of a business as our natural sources of clean
water are disappearing because of not allocating water properly.
The answer is clear, we have to learn how to use water more
efficiently and sustainably. This means doing things like: shortening showers, not
washing your car as much, etc..
2. The medical field
is getting hit hard as it becomes more and more expensive to go to med school,
potential doctors often don’t become doctors because they don’t want to spend
10 years paying off student loans.
Subsidize the medical field by offering more medical
scholarships to students so that their passion is not diminished by
practicality of paying student loans.
1.
The economy is in a very fragile state and
although I don’t know much about how the economy exactly works, I know that
there are a few potential problems that could cause disaster like what is
actually stored in Ft. Knox and all of the money that is in digital format.
There is no answer to this, even the worlds greatest
economists cannot solve this problem.

Jon I agree with you on the reliance of technology. That is a great problem I completely overlooked. Terrorism was my top world problem. Too many people are dying everyday and the world is living in fear. People can't go on vacation with out the thought of a terrorist attack in the back of their head. Great Post!
