This problem is mostly faced by new students, who are overwhelmed with the size of a college campus.
My solution to this is an app called CollegeMap, an app that allows users to easily find clubs or organizations they are interested in.
Here is my Elevator Pitch
Jon, I love this idea! I think that students would especially benefit from the match feature of CollegeMap. Like you mentioned, students can find out about clubs and organizations through GatorConnect but nobody can really find out useful information because it's hardly updated. I know as a member of the Greek community that it would be a useful platform to share information about my chapter with students who may not know all that much about Greek life. Maybe you can find a way to connect the app to Facebook so interested students in an organization can directly message someone to get more information. ReplyDeleteI think this is a great idea. I know when I first arrived on campus I had no idea what to do. There were too many organizations, and not much information on any of them. If I had an app like this of my phone I would of taken advantage of it. The GatorConnect is too broad, and it did not really help me. I think this is a great and easy way to help students know the different things that their schools can offer, and it could be a great way for organizations to show students what they can gain from joining each organization. Below is my elevator pitch link.
